FAQs

Have Questions?

Planning an event comes with a lot of moving parts. Below are some of the most common details our clients ask about. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help!

What is the maximum guest capacity?

The Atrium can accommodate up to 350 guests for events with a dance floor, up to 500 guests without a dance floor, and up to 1,000 guests for a standing, cocktail-style reception.

Where can guests park?

There is a large parking lot in front of The Atrium available for guests at no charge. Overflow parking is also permitted across the street in the large lot located on the corner of West Ferry and Niagara Streets.

If we have our wedding ceremony at The Atrium, where can we take photos during cocktail hour?

Our staff will escort your guests to the venue’s cocktail area, where you can take pictures by the fireplace. Please note that, due to time constraints, couples must remain on-site between the ceremony and dinner, including for photos. If you plan to take photos elsewhere, please have all photos taken before the ceremony and allow time to arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before your start time.

Do you have a wedding suite?

Yes, we have separate suites available for the wedding party. These rooms can be used to store belongings and enjoy light fare and refreshments before guests arrive.

What time can we arrive at The Atrium to get ready?

The wedding suite is available any time after 11:00 am on the day of your ceremony. If you are only having a reception at the venue, you can arrive one hour prior to your start time.

Can we bring our own backdrop, lights, linens, or other decorations?

All food, beverages, backdrops, up lights, linens, and other on-site coordination are exclusively provided by Rich’s Catering & Special Events. We set up place cards, favors, gift boxes, sign-in books, and other wedding articles on your behalf.

What does on-site coordination mean?

One of the greatest perks of having your wedding with us is that we handle everything! Rich’s Catering & Special Events will set up any items you need. We also take on all event time management for you. This ensures you are always on track and can truly enjoy every minute of your special day without having to worry about a thing.

How long does dinner take?

Typically, a salad, entrée, and dessert course can be completed in 50-60 minutes, depending on how fast or slow the guests eat.

We see that two of the wedding packages include a wedding cake. Is that just a basic, generic cake?

Not at all! You will work with the Executive Pastry Chef at Frost Artisan Bakery to design your custom cake and choose flavors after a cake tasting. Please contact them at 716-878-8821.

How do I know if my DJ has all the necessary equipment to hook up to Rich’s sound system?

There are two DJ companies on our exclusive DJ list approved by Rich’s Catering & Special Events to provide their services for any event: Whirlin’ Disc Sound and Toy Bros. Entertainment. These DJs have worked at The Atrium; they have all the necessary equipment and are very familiar with our sound system. You must select one of our approved DJ companies for your event. No exceptions will be made.

How do I know if my band has all the necessary equipment to hook up to Rich’s sound system?

All live bands must be pre-approved by Rich’s Catering & Special Events management. Once approved, Rich’s will work with the band to ensure they know the necessary equipment required.

How many bars are there?

We staff one bartender per 100 guests. Typically, there is one double bar set up for events up to 150 guests and two separate bars for events with more than 150 guests during cocktail hour.

Can the bar stay open during dinner?

For weddings and events with a sit-down dinner, the bars must be closed. We can have wine service available during dinner. As soon as dinner service is finished, one bar will reopen for the remainder of the event. For events with entree stations, the bars can remain open.

Do you work with any hotels?

The Travel Team is a proud member of the Rich’s family. They can help book you a room for yourself, as well as assist with hotel blocks for your wedding guests, if needed. For more information, please contact an advisor.

What does the room rental include?

The room rental includes 6ft round tables for guest seating, silver banquet chairs, 6ft and 8ft banquet tables, bistro tables, white or ivory linen tablecloths, white or ivory linen napkins, china, silverware, glassware, mirror tiles and votive candles for guest tables, in-house sound and lighting system, parking, and security.
